Posting bail here

Call (800) 351-8911 with the person's name, the jail, the charge and the bail amount if it is listed. We confirm the booking, take the cosigner's application, and post the bond with the jail. The jail then processes the release, and timing depends on how busy it is that day.

Prefer to start on paper? Apply for bail online and an agent will call you back. If the bail feels out of reach, ask about Bail Today, Pay Later® monthly payments and the 20% discount for veterans and for people with a private attorney.

Find the person

Search the LASD Inmate Information Center with their full legal name and date of birth. Write down the booking number. You will need it for bail, visits, mail and money. New bookings can take a few hours to show up online. Our inmate lookup guide has tips when a search comes up empty.

Visiting

  • Public visits are by appointment only and visitors must register through LASD's visitor registration.
  • LASD lists Twin Towers public visiting on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 8 AM to noon and 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
  • Photo ID is required. LASD suggests bringing a few quarters for a locker to store your things.

What families should know

Twin Towers Correctional Facility sits on Bauchet Street in downtown Los Angeles, at the same address as the county's Inmate Reception Center. People arrested in Los Angeles County are processed through the Reception Center, where LASD screens each person for mental and physical health concerns on arrival, before they are housed.

LASD encourages families to tell the jail about a loved one's medical or mental health needs. Its custody page explains how to fax medication and diagnosis information after the person is booked. Use the booking number and keep the fax to medical facts only.

What to have ready when you call

  • The person's full legal name
  • Which jail they are in
  • What they were arrested for
  • The bail amount, if you know it
  • The booking number, if you have it
