Find the person

Visiting
- There is no visiting at the Inmate Reception Center. LASD lists it as temporary holding.
- Once a person is housed, visits happen at the facility where they are assigned.
What families should know
The Inmate Reception Center, called the IRC, is where Los Angeles County processes people coming into and going out of county custody. A person arrested by a city police department is often held at that city's jail first and then transferred here.
LASD says money left on a person's account after release can be picked up at the IRC or at Century Regional Detention Facility with a valid government photo ID, and that accounts are purged about 30 days after release. Funds not collected by then take longer to get back.
